Introduction

My name is Cassandra Raymond.  I am a first grade teacher for Bellevue Public Schools and have been for 10 years. I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Wayne State College in the spring of 2010.
Technology in the primary classroom has always been a passion of mine. I have a classroom set of iPads, making my students 1:1 and our district will be completely 1:1 next year.  I have had no difficulty integrating technology into my lessons each day and have developed a positive balance in my classroom.  My students have many opportunities to complete flipped lessons, work through teacher-paced and individually-paced station rotations, explain their thinking, and create unique work based on what they have learned. I have used Macs for as long as I can remember, starting with an old black and green screen with a dot matrix printer.
Honestly, the pursuit of my master's degree is driven by the opportunity to learn and apply new ideas in the classroom. I strived to created the best possible learning environment for my students through the use of research-based strategies and activities. By furthering my education, I will be better equipped to meet my students needs.
