Curriculum Video
My curriculum video is for use with our Food Groups unit in health. The assessment for this unit requires students to identify what groups different foods belong to.
The use of teacher-created videos to teach content is valuable in the flipped classroom and the in-class flip model of teaching. By creating these videos students can experience the information at their own pace and come up with any questions or misconceptions they might have. Then, when the topic is further discussed in class or through a project, students can address any issues with the teacher.
I enjoyed story boarding my video. It helped me design the content I wanted to cover and make sure I had an introduction and conclusion. All of my necessary content was in the story board, so I was ready to record each clip and I knew what I needed to take pictures of.
I use video in my in-class flip lessons. I have recorded the guided practice for math in every lesson so students can focus on it at their own pace. I always use my voice when I am creating content for my students. However, I have not made videos where I am featured in them. I could see using this as a way to demonstrate an art project or craft for students to complete independently, since that is something we don't have as much time for anymore.

ReplyDeleteGreat job with this video! Two things stick out to me when viewing your video. First, your video has great information and flow. It is extremely easy to follow along with, and understand the content. Second, your video has good clarity. Every clip/photo is clear and relevant to your main message. These two components are key when it comes to this project!
